Tip-Me-Not™ Doors
Built with safety as our first priority, Wood Designs™ designed this special safety feature for all of our products with doors. Tip-Me-Not™ doors go all the way down the front of the product. When the door is open, the design prevents the unit from tipping over.

Pinch-Me-Not™ Hinges
Because little fingers are going to be using and exploring our products, we designed Pinch-Me-Not™ hinges that run the full-length of the hinged doors. This eliminates the space between the door and the unit, minimizing the risk of pinching fingers.

Dado vs. Dowel

Our construction includes Dados, Glue, & Steel Pins!
Talk About Strong! Dowels are commonly used to construct mass produced and inexpensive items. Dado’s are commonly used for quality high end products.

With dowel construction, weak stress points are created with each dowel inserted.  Dado construction has no weak stress points.

Dowels are typically used for boxes and drawers where strength is not a major factor.  Dado construction is commonly used for shelving, steps and ladders where superior strength is required.
